Happy Valentine's Day!

Our Valentine's Day was so much fun! We did some candy heart math and had a fun party in the afternoon!

100th Day

On January 26th we celebrated the 100th day of third grade! Lots of us dressed up as if we were 100 years old!

Water Cycle Readers Theater

Today we explored the water cycle with a reader's theater play!

Water Cycle Experiment

Today we conducted an experiment to learn more about several parts of the water cycle. We observed a cup of water that was cold, at room temperature, and hot to see which would evaporate fastest. We could also see some condensation forming on the under side of the lid. Some of us even saw precipitation as droplets crowded together and became heavy enough to fall back into the cup!

We also started the year with a fun story about snowflakes and how no two are alike! That's just like each of us! We are all unique and wonderful and when we come together like snowflakes falling in a group, the picture is beautiful!

It was quite a STEM challenge to make three dimensional snowflakes, but we did it!

Happy holidays!

Today we had our winter party! It was lots of fun decorating and eating cookies, having an indoor snowball fight, decorating gifts, and playing a minute-to-win it cotton ball snow ball race! Thank you families for organizing, planning, and hosting a great party!

Winter Writing Celebration

Today we celebrated our information writing! Students worked very hard to draft a book with an introduction, several strong chapters, and a conclusion! We even included helpful text features and a table of contents!

After our gallery walk, we enjoyed some hot chocolate!!!
